ENG vs IND: KL Rahul returns to the dressing room after Day 1, BCCI releases viral video
KL Rahul held the Indian innings together, displayed patience, and carved out a master class that will be remembered for a long time.
KL Rahul was ‘KLass’ personified on the First Day of the second Test match against England at Lord’s. The Indian opening batsman scored a masterly 127* off 248 deliveries, and kept the England bowlers at bay.
And, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released a video that shows Rahul returning back to the dressing room. The Indian opener received a standing ovation from his teammates for his magnificent display with the willow.
The video further shows Rohit Sharma congratulating Rahul for his excellent knock, with Mayank Agarwal also offering Rahul a hug. Indian coach Ravi Shastri and pacers Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah are also seen congratulating Rahul for his resplendent knock.

KL Rahul’s classy ton puts India in the driver’s seat on Day 1
KL Rahul’s classy century allowed India to dominate England on Day One of the second Test match at Lord’s. The right-handed batsman held the Indian innings together, displayed patience, and carved out a master class that will be remembered for a long time. Rahul’s innings consisted of 12 fours and a six.
And most importantly, he managed to get his name engraved on the Lord’s Honour’s Board as well. The Indian scorecard reads a commanding 276/3 at the end of the first day. Apart from Rahul, opener Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli also contributed vital runs to the Indian total.
While the ‘Hitman’ scored a sparkling 83 off 145 deliveries, Kohli helped himself to a 103-ball 42. Rahul and Rohit Sharma were involved in a sensational 126-run partnership for the opening wicket for the Virat Kohli-led Indian side.
For England, James Anderson was the pick of the bowlers. The legendary pacer bowled 20 overs, gave away 52 runs, and also scalped the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara. The huge scalp of Virat Kohli was picked by right-arm pacer Ollie Robinson. The series is currently locked at 0-0, with the first Test match of the series at Nottingham ending in a draw.
