ENG vs IND: Rishabh Pant tries his best to convince Virat Kohli not to take a review in hilarious fashion

The Indian cricket team is currently involved in a blockbuster five-match Test series against England on England soil. The first Test between the two sides at Nottingham ended in a draw, and the second Test match is currently underway at Lord’s.

One batsman who holds the key for the England side is Joe Root. And, during the second day’s play, Root was struck on the pads by an excellent delivery from Mohammed Siraj. The Indian players appealed, but the appeal was turned down by the on-field umpire.

And, that was when Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant went to his skipper Virat Kohli and tried his best to dissuade Kohli from taking the review in hilarious fashion. But then, in the very last moment, Kohli took the review with a huge smile on his face. Even Mohammed Siraj was seen laughing.

Even after Kohli went upstairs, Pant was still engaged in a conversation with Kohli. However, India lost the review as the replays showed that the ball was missing the stumps.

The second Test hangs in the balance

At the end of Day 2, the second Test is hanging in the balance. Starting the day at 276/3, the Indian side was bowled out for a total of 364. James Anderson was the star performer for the England side with the red cherry in hand and scalped a sensational five-wicket haul. KL Rahul scored a magical 129 for the Virat Kohli-led side with the willow in hand.

In reply, England ended the second Day with their scorecard reading 119/3. Skipper Joe Root was holding fort for the hosts and helped himself to an unbeaten 48 off 75 deliveries. Giving Root company was Jonny Bairstow, who had scored 6 runs off 17 deliveries.

Apart from Root, even Rory Burns contributed vital runs to the team total. The left-handed opening batsman scored a patient 49 off 136 deliveries for the England side at the top of the order. Mohammed Siraj picked up 2 out of the 3 wickets that fell for England.
