When India played a Test match at the Kennington Oval last time, two Indian batsmen etched their names on the Surrey Honour’s Board. And, the two willow wielders are Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul.

When India visited England shores in the year 2018, Rahul and Pant produced a sensational counter-attacking partnership in the 2nd innings of the 5th Test match. Chasing an improbable target of 464, India was in the doldrums, with the scorecard reading 121/5. And, that is when the duo of Rahul and Pant joined hands.

While Rahul scored a classy 149 off 224 deliveries, Pant helped himself to a 146-ball 114. And, the duo put on a whopping 204-run partnership for the 6th wicket and knocked the wind out of the sails of the England bowling attack.

However, India ended up on the losing side in that match. After Rahul fell with the Indian scorecard reading 325/6, India lost their next 4 wickets within the space of just 20 runs and lost the match by a margin of 118 runs.
