After winning the first two matches, Team India had to suffer a defeat in the third and final T20I match against England. Chasing 216 to win, the Men in Blue had a shaky start with skipper Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and Virat Kohli getting out early. However, batter Suryakumar Yadav stroked an excellent century and ensured that his team remains in the competition.
Suryakumar played an impactful knock as he scored 117 runs off just 55 balls, smashing 14 fours and six maximums. He almost won the match for India single-handedly but unfortunately got out while trying to play a big shot against Moeen Ali and was caught by Philip Salt stationed at long-off. After getting dismissed, Yadav got a standing ovation from the crowd.

Earlier in the match, England won the toss and opted to bat first. A flying start was provided by the English duo of Jos Buttler and Jason Roy. Batters Dawid Malan and Liam Livingstone also played amazing knocks as the Three Lions crossed the 200-run mark.
For India, Ravi Bishnoi and Harshal Patel scalped two wickets each, while Umran Malik and Avesh Khan also got one wicket. As mentioned above, the Men in Blue did not have a perfect start to the chase, but Yadav went berserk against the English bowling line-up as he punished every bowler. The Men in Blue required 25 runs off the last eight balls when the batter got out, but before that he completed his maiden century in the international format.
