England team’s heads dropped after South Africa’s dominating performance on day two of the Lord’s Test. They needed an inspirational effort to keep a lid on things in the morning session against the South African tail, which came on the field from the unlikeliest source of Stuart Broad, who grabbed one of the most incredible catches at the iconic venue to dismiss Kagiso Rabada in the very first over of the morning.

South Africa bagged a handy lead of 124 runs on the second day after a scintillating counterattacking stand between Keshav Maharaj and Marco Jansen in the post Tea session. But before they could even add a single run to their tally, Matty Potts got rid of Kagiso Rabada on the third delivery of the day, courtesy of an unbelievable effort from Stuart Broad.

The Proteas batter mistimed a hoick, and the ball seemed to lob over Broad, who was stationed at mid-on, but to the disbelief of all the viewers, including the players and himself, the English pacer hung on to a sensational catch diving backwards. Veteran pacer James Anderson couldn’t believe his eyes after watching his bowling partner’s spectacular grab, who was mobbed by his teammates after his extraordinary effort.

England cricket’s official Twitter account expressed their shock at the tremendous grab, writing, “Oh Broady!”

South Africa get bowled out for 326 runs in 1st innings

Soon after Rabada’s fall of wicket, England hoped to bundle out the visitors early. But Anrich Nortje had other ideas as he smashed 28 runs off 42 deliveries before they were skittled for 326 runs in the first innings with a whopping lead of 161 runs. England will have to bat really well in their second essay in order to set the target for the Proteas. They have already lost their first wicket with Zak Crawley getting out to Keshav Maharaj for a low score yet again.
