English Women’s team middle-order batter Danielle Wyatt has revealed her favourite IPL team while the tournament is just a week away. The England Women’s team had recently toured India for a couple of limited-overs series. While the hosts won the three-match ODI series 2-1, they lost the T20I series by 3-0 to the touring English side. England Women have now visited Sri Lanka for a three-match ODI series that starts on Saturday, March 16.

Danielle Wyatt had become a household name in India back in 2014 when she made a Twitter post to propose to her favourite cricket, the current Indian captain Virat Kohli. The World T20 in Bangladesh was underway back then. Wyatt had tweeted: “Kholi (sic) marry me,” and had the entire Indian fan base on Twitter was set on fire. She received endless comments and retweets to one particular tweet of hers.

In fact, few fans reminded her of the speculations about Kohli dating the Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma. She was not ready to give up and replied, “nah, he ain’t”. She later revealed that when she met Kohli, post that tweet, Kohli adviced her not to post such things on Twitter. ‘You can’t do things like that on Twitter! They[Indian fans] take things seriously!’ I was like, ‘okay. Sorry!’, Wyatt revealed.

Last year Wyatt, a huge fan of Virat Kohli, revealed that she’s going to use the bat Virat Kohli had gifted to her earlier. She called it a “beast”. While the English batswoman scored maiden hundred in the shortest format against Australia, she broke her bat. “I’m using Virat Kohli’s bat now. The bat I hit the century with broke not long ago. So now I’ll be using Virat’s,” Wyatt was quoted saying.

There’s no doubt to the fact that the English cricketer is a follower and fan of the Indian captain Virat Kohli. She has extended her loyalties to her favourite cricketer in the Indian Premier League as well. When asked by an Indian fan on Twitter about which team was her favourite in the IPL, Wyatt wrote RCB. Clearly, it’s because of the Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli.
