England Lions v Sri Lanka A: Ben Duckett smashes a List A double ton

England Lions’ continued their dominating performance with the bat in the ongoing “A” team Tri-series which includes Pakistan A and Sri Lanka A. The Lions’ have recorded scores of 425/1, 395/3 and 324/8 while batting first in the last 3 games in this series. Against Sri Lanka A at Canterbury, England Lions smashed a record-breaking 425 for loss of just one wicket, thanks to a huge unbeaten stand for 2nd wicket between Ben Duckett and Daniel Bell-Drummond.
Duckett, who has been in some serious form in the last few games, scored an unbeaten 220 and set quite a few records. Earlier in this Tri-series, he smashed a quick fire 163 while chasing. Duckett’s partner Bell-Drummond scored an unbeaten 171. Before this game, Drummond never scored a century in List A cricket.
Coming back to this game, Sri Lanka A in reply, was bowled out for 285 in 48th over. The Sri Lankan team got a great start with Dickwella scoring 60 off just 45 balls. He shared a century stand of 105 runs for the opening wicket with Udwatte (40) in just 86 balls. The middle order collapse ensured a 140-run win for England Lions. Angelo Perera and Thisara Perera were other major contributors in Sri Lanka A’s total with 69 and 45 respectively.
