England pacer Stuart Broad names his all-time best XI
Only one Indian in the list.
England and India are scheduled to play a five-match Test series, which starts on August 1 at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Fast bowler Stuart Broad, who didn’t feature in the erstwhile T20I and ODI series against the Men in Blue, was named in the squad for the opening match. He last played in the two-match Test series against Pakistan and finished with eight wickets.
Unfortunately, he suffered an ankle injury and was doubtful for the upcoming five-day matches. Fortunately, he recovered from the same and also played a couple of matches for Nottinghamshire in England’s County Championship. Recently, the bowling all-round cricketer revealed is all-time favorite eleven in a video released by Lord’s Cricket Ground’s YouTube page.
Anderson and Cook- The Current players
He selected Alistair Cook as the captain, which is understandable bearing in mind Cook’s incredible record. Matthew Hayden, the retired Australian batsman, is the other opener. Ricky Ponting, Sachin Tendulkar, and Brian Lara are the next three batsmen, who used to be fulcrums of their respective team’s batting order. Jacques Kallis’ records as an all-rounder are nothing short of phenomenal.
He was equally efficient with both bat and leather and was arguably one of the best cricketer South Africa have ever produced. Matt Prior, the cricketer turned commentator, is the wicketkeeper in the lineup. Richard Hadley, the former New Zealand cricketer, Glenn McGrath, the retired Aussie paceman, and James Anderson, who will be Broad’s fast-bowling partner against India, form the pace battery.
Nevertheless, the team only consist of one spinner in the form of Shane Warne, who retired from international cricket after Australia’s Test match against England at Sydney Cricket Ground back in January 2007.
