We don’t often see cricketers taking some time off their game whilst a Test match, definitely not in recent times. But English cricketer did spend some time to relax and they even travelled to their Test match venue by tube. The team led by Joe Root are currently playing the third Test against South Africa at the Kennington Oval, London.
Their stalwart Stuart Broad was caught by a surprise at the Bank Station, where he found a Sky Sports advertisement on the wall featuring the fast bowler. Root and Broad took to Twitter and Instagram to share how they spent their time in the last few hours.
Keaton Jennings, debutant Toby Roland-Jones, James Anderson and Jonny Bairstow were the other people involved in the early morning commute. Root posted a picture of Broad gazing at himself in the poster on Twitter.

A baffled Broad and the rest of his teammates kept looking at the Sky Sports advertisement which also included some absolute legends in the sporting fraternity like F1 superstar Lewis Hamilton, popular golfer Rory McIlroy and FC Barcelona’s all-time leading goal-scorer Lionel Messi.
The fast bowler posted a picture with the rest of his teammates accompanying him in the tube. His caption read “Off to the Test” with a hashtag “Morning Commute”.
England in complete command
England are currently in a dominating situation, with South Africa just about managing to avoid the follow-on. Temba Bavuma helped them escape embarrassment as he scored a pivotal half-century. But the Proteas did concede a huge lead on a track that’s not assisting the batters much.
England posted 353 in their first innings banking on a fine century from Ben Stokes and an 88 from skipper Alastair Cook. To back up these performances, a splendid bowling display from Roland-Jones helped England remove the Proteas top-order cheaply and take a giant leap in the Test match.
The series is beautifully poised with both the teams winning a game each and it currently appears as though England are on top. But the unpredictability of South Africa and English weather can definitely spoil Root and company’s party and the fans will be eager to see how the events unfold.
