When you are stumbling and fumbling at 45-5 chasing 192 runs in 26 overs, you need to score runs at a steady pace and not lose too many wickets. England didn’t do either of those and looked well set to get defeated by a convincing margin staggering at 45-5. But Jonny Bairstow was in mood to relent or meekly give up. He fought a lone battle like a soldier and in the end sealed a near improbable win. Bairstow came into the side as a replacement for Buttler, but proved his mettle as a fine batsman capable of competing with the best. “It has been fantastic to come back in, it was been wonderful and special. Disappointing for Jos but I was happy to make a contribution” Bairstow said.
