We witnessed another crackerjack of a series, which went all down to the wire and at the end it was England team who held their nerves and finished three-match series in their favour. With this, England team not only retained their number one spot in the ICC rankings but have also announced their stature for the upcoming World Cup which is scheduled to happen in less than 12 months time.

Having already clinched the victory against two top-quality sides, Australia and India, England look pure favourites to win in their home conditions if they manage to stretch their form till the much-awaited World Cup. The 2019 World Cup will be played in England and Wales which will give undue advantage to the host.

It will be difficult to beat them: Shardul

Indian Pacer Shardul Thakur, who had a wonderful day at the office yesterday stated in the post-match presentation that it will be difficult to beat England in their home conditions. He further went on saying, that England Team is pure favourites to lift the title, having said that they will play in their home conditions. However, the speedster looked confident and believes that Indian Team has assessed the conditions well which eventually will help when they will tour England for the World Cup next year.

At the post-match presentation, he said, “They are obviously favourites because these are their home conditions. England know them better how to play cricket here, so other teams have a big challenge to play here. They have played well against Australia recently and now against us, so it will be difficult to beat them. But when we do come back (for the World Cup) we will be all geared up.”

It will be interesting to see if Indian Team can resolve the issues faced by them in the bilateral series against England and if they can come back strongly for the next year’s World Cup.
