The 5-match ODI series between England and Sri Lanka started off with a thrilling tie in which Liam Plunkett struck a six on the final ball of the game to level the scores. Sri Lanka posted 286/9 in their 50 overs after been put to bat. They were boosted by quickfire fifty from Seekkuge Prasanna and a steady knock from captain Angelo Mathews. 6 – Liam Plunkett became only the 3rd player to hit six on the final ball of the match to Tie the game. Overall, he is only the 4th player to hit a boundary on final ball to tie an ODI.

16.84 – Percentage of runs Chris Woakes scored in boundaries in this game. These are the fewest for any player who has scored 60+ with a strike rate of 100 in an ODI innings.
