Windies and England faced in a T20I for the first time since the World T20 final last year with the Carribean nation on winning once again. A lighting start from Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis helped the visitors reach 176/9 despite a middle order debacle. Alex Hales started the England innings in a similar fashion which was followed by another middle order collapse and they fell short of the target by 21 runs.

Here we look at all the stats and records created during the game.

1 – Chris Gayle became the first player to hit 100 sixes in T20Is. Gayle’s first six of the game was his 100th in this format.

3 – This is only the 3rd T20I for England where they lost a wicket on the very first ball of an inning. In 2009, Joe Denly got out on the very first ball of the game against South Africa while Roy repeated the same against Pakistan in 2015.

4 – Number of bowlers who picked three wickets each in this game (Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Kesrick Williams and Carlos Brathwaite). This is only the 3rd T20I where four bowlers bagged three wickets. Australia-Pakistan WT20 game in 2010 and Hong Kong-Scotland T20I in 2016 were the other two instances.

15 – Sunil Narine conceded 15 runs in his four overs in this game. The last spinner to concede 15 or fewer runs in a T20I in England was Garey Mathurin in 2011 against England. He conceded only nine runs in his four overs in that T20I.

15Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis‘ 77-run stand is the 15th fifty-run opening stand for Windies in T20I cricket. Gayle has been a part of ten such partnerships for his team.

25 – Runs Sunil Narine has scored in his last nine innings in Twenty20s after his match-winning 78 against Barbados Tridents. His scores in these nine innings read 5, 1, 5, 0, 9, 0, 0, 3 and 2.

26 – Evin Lewis’ 26-ball fifty is the 2nd fastest in the England-Windies T20I matches. Eoin Morgan in 2012 and Marlon Samuels in 2007 hit fifties in just 25 balls.

150 – Evin Lewis completed 150 sixes in Twenty20 cricket with his 2nd of the game. Lewis has hit 150 sixes in just 70 innings; quicker than any other player. Chris Gayle completed his 150 T20 sixes in 72 innings.
