With this victory, the Men in Blue sealed the series 2-0 with one game to go. Jadeja batted for 29 deliveries, including five fours as he remained unbeaten to take his side to a competitive total.
Earlier, Jos Buttler won the toss and opted to field first. The 34-year-old debutant Richard Gleeson made a solid start to his international career as he dismissed Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli. The pacer registered the second-best figures for England on debut (3/15).
Captain Rohit made 31 off 20 while Pant, who opened the innings, amassed 26 off 15. Kohli’s poor form continued as he got out for just one run, while Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya mustered 15 and 12 runs respectively, with both getting dismissed to Chris Jordan, who scripted his second-best figures of 4/27 in the format.
Chasing 171, Bhuvneshwar Kumar this time got rid of Jason Roy for a golden duck on the very first delivery of the innings. Captain Buttler also fell prey to the Indian pacer for just four and the hosts never really looked in the run-chase as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals.
Moeen Ali top-scored for them with his knock of 35 off 21, while David Willey tried his best as he scored an unbeaten 33 off 22. Bhuvneshwar finished with figures of 3/15 with all Indian bowlers chipping in with wickets except for Jadeja.
