England and India are currently battling it out in the ongoing third Test match at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. The hosts have won the toss and invited the opposition to bat first with an aim to freshen up to their wounds at Lord’s and bowl them out as early as possible. But the visitors have come prepared for the tough test it seems. Amidst all the action in the middle, the crowd witnessed a wonderful sportsman spirit from Ben Stokes and Shikhar Dhawan as they had a friendly chat after the former nudged the batsman while running.
The incident happened off the last ball of the 12th over. Stokes bowled a big hopping inswinging delivery which KL Rahul played late only for the cherry to take the thick inside edge and roll to his left. Sensing the opportunity to take the single, the openers set off for a single. Dhawan started running in order to reach the other end and at the same time, the bowler also ran in the same direction to get hold of the ball.
In the quest to reach their destination, Stokes shoulder-charged Dhawan, of course not deliberately, and was quick to apologise to him at the end of the over. Gabbar as well understood the situation and put a hand around his shoulder to have a friendly chat with him which was appreciated by the crowd as well.

Match situation
As far as the match situation is concerned, the openers are playing extremely well as they have now batted for close to 18 overs for the first time in this series. There is a change in their approach also as they haven’t committed to the shot outside the off-stump. This is also only the second time that they have added a half-century stand for the opening wicket in five innings in this series.
Chris Woakes struck in the 19th over to nip out Dhawan though who was looking good with the team’s score reading 60/1. He scored 35 off 65 balls by scoring 7 fours during his stay in the middle.
