England vs India: Jos Buttler sent to the hospital for an X-Ray
Will he participate further in the match?
England and India are currently involved in an intriguing opening Test match at Edgbaston in Birmingham. The hosts have been bowled out for 287 runs thanks to the disciplined bowling from their opponents and now they are hoping to pick quick wickets with the ball. However, they have been jolted with an injury scare to Jos Buttler who has been sent to the hospital for an X-Ray after hurting the middle finger of his left hand.
According to ESPN Cricinfo, Buttler was soon taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure after the lunch was called on the day 2 of the Test match. He hurt his finger in the 17th over when Virat Kohli was lured into a false shot by his nemesis James Anderson.
His attempt to drive outside off-stump led to him edging the ball which went quickly past Buttler who was standing at gully. He tried his best to catch the ball but in the process hurt his finger and all the eyes now will be on the report of the X-Ray.
Sam Curran rattles the top-order
With all the focus on the veterans James Anderson and Stuart Broad, Sam Curran turned out to be the surprise package as he rattled the Indian top-order within the space of 14 deliveries. He first caught Murali Vijay in front of the stumps and then went on to castle KL Rahul in the same over.
However, it was the wicket of Shikhar Dhawan which must have pleased him a lot. He set him up nicely and finally induced a false drive as he edged the ball to the second slip where Dawid Malan safely pouched the catch. India were reduced to 59/3 from 50/0 and now their most reliable pair is fighting it out in the middle. Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane have added 17 runs together and they were 76/3 until lunch.
