England vs West Indies: Rahkeem Cornwall takes a one-handed stunner to dismiss Rory Burns
Big bulky cricketers are often known to be poor fielders but the West Indian proved otherwise.
Rahkeem Cornwall the West Indies all-rounder has been in the news for various reasons, the primary one being his weight. While most people thought that his weight will not allow him to become a cricketer, the big man proved all his critics wrong. He made his Test debut for the Caribbean national team on 30th August 2019 in a match against India.
With his off-spinners and useful lower-order batting, he is definitely an asset for the Caribbean side. He was playing his first match of the series for the visitors in the third Test against England. The WI going in with two spinners confused many and Cornwall getting no wickets on Day 1 did not help the cause.

While his off-spinners were not very useful, the huge cricketer took a one-handed spectacular catch to dismiss Rory Burns, who was the in-form batsman for the hosts. The wicket came in the fourth delivery of 48th over. Roston Chase, who had dismissed the English batsman in the last two innings of this series, got his man for the third time. Burns looked to cut a flighted delivery, only managing to edge it to the big West Indian at first slip, who held on to an excellent catch.
The ball was flying at a great speed but the all-rounder flung his right hand to grab the ball and then used his left hand to secure the catch. It was a sight to see for all cricket fans as they came out with all praises for the man’s brilliance. Burns was sent back to the pavilion after scoring a good 57-run knock. Chase has now dismissed the England opener four times in just 40 deliveries. With England finishing Day 1 at 258/4, Cornwall missing the catch could’ve led to a lot more damage. West Indies would hope for an improved show on Day 2 to make a strong comeback in the Test. After already contributing in the field, a few wickets from the big man would be ideal for the Windies team.
