The cricket world was in total awe on the Sunday night after watching vintage MS Dhoni on display. Dhoni hammered an unbeaten 79 to almost win the game for his side, the Chennai Super Kings. He eventually fell short by just four runs on the day. Nevertheless, he earned the respect and love from the cricket fraternity for his stupendous effort. The players of the England Women team were among the many who shared messages for the veteran cricketer.

England Women all-rounder Alexandra Hartley took to micro blogging site Twitter to express her delight at the knock that MS Dhoni had played. In her tweet, she remarked that the result does not really matter. The biggest takeaway from the game was the fact that one can never write off a legend. Coming in to the game, Dhoni was under immense pressure to perform.

In the recent times, he had failed to clobber big shots and that made the pundits very critical about their claims on Dhoni’s game. But this knock against the Kings XI Punjab has certainly silenced a lot of critics and pundits.

Here is what Alexandra Hartley tweeted:

“No matter the result. MS Dhoni showing why you should never write off a legend! #Dhoni #IPL #CSK,” wrote Alexandra Hartley in her tweet for MS Dhoni.

All in all, the match was a thoroughly entertaining one. The first week of the IPL 2018 has given some spectacular games already. It was yet another last over finish in this season. Another England Women cricketer, Kate Cross, also took to Twitter to express her admiration for Dhoni’s knock. She called the effort of MS Dhoni as an amazing one. Also, she had a word for the IPL games this season. She reckoned that all the matches are going down to the wire and are getting to the nerves for sure.

Here is what Kate Cross had to say about Dhoni’s knock:

“Wow @msdhoni.. what an amazing effort that was. these games are doing nothing for my nerves!! #KXIPvCSK #IPL,” Cross wrote in her tweet.
