The former Pakistan leg-spinner Danish Kaneria has hit back at the interim head coach of Pakistan Abdul Razzaq for his recent comments on the Indian cricket team. The former allrounder had said that Pakistan is way ahead of India in terms of talent. He also spoke about the T20 World Cup match later this month between the two arch-rivals.

Kaneria dismissed the comments made by Razzaq and said that there is in fact no comparison between India and called his statements as ‘nonsense’. The former spinner expressed that he doesn’t feel Pakistan’s team is good enough and also highlighted that it was difficult to put up a squad together. He also mentioned about the series loss earlier this year in England, when most of the newcomers played in the opposition.

“Pakistan doesn’t have stability in their bating and bowling. Razzaq says that dismiss Kohli and Rohit and it will be easy to catch this Indian team. Nonsense, how will you catch this Indian team? There are issues in forming the Pakistan team itself. Where is your batting who will win your matches? England’s B team defeated us. The selection looks in shambles, it’s a very poor statement to make,” Kaneria said on his Youtube channel.

Not expected from an international-level cricketer whose stature is high: Danish Kaneria on Abdul Razzaq

The former Pakistan spinner further commented that a player who is respected in Pakistan shouldn’t make such comments. He also highlighted the depth which the Indian team has had and said they have the upper hand over Pakistan. It should also be noted that Pakistan has never beaten India in any World Cup match, neither in the T20s nor in 50 overs.

“It was not expected from an international-level cricketer whose stature is so high in Pakistan. India has the upper hand over Pakistan. India has been performing well in every department. They have players like Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, etc. How will you get them out?” added Kaneria.

Talking about the match between Pakistan and India, there is a lot of hype as anyone would expect. Recently the tickets of Dubai International cricket stadium were put up on sale and all of it was sold out in just hours. This will be the first time India and Pakistan will meet in a T20 match since 2016 and the first white-ball cricket match since 2019.
