The England ODI and T20 captain Eoin Morgan has made his way to UAE to feature for the Karachi Kings in the rest of the PSL. The left-hander was not available so far as he was busy discharging his national duties for England in the ODI series against the Blackcaps. However, with that series over now, he has flown in and has given the Karachi management another option to look at.
The Karachi XI looks pretty settled at the moment. Joe Denly, Ravi Bopara, and Collin Ingram are the three overseas batsmen whom they have persisted with right since the start of the tournament and to be fair to those three, they have provided decent returns with the bat.
And recently the Caribbean batsman Lendl Simmons left a mark at the top of the order as well, scoring a blistering 70 odd playing against the Multan Sultans. So In all probability, he along with the above mentioned three players will be the four overseas picks for Karachi in the next game and Morgan will have to sit out.
Karachi hoping to overturn fortunes following Morgan’s arrival
But because of the fact that Morgan is so experienced and has batted in the middle order for England for a long, long time, he is someone whom the team management will definitely keep into mind moving towards the knockouts. Morgan is a finisher who is blessed with a calm head and has got all the big shots in his armory which he can pull out against both pace and spin. His recent form for England of late has been pretty good too and he will be absolutely raring to go.
Karachi is at no. 3 in the PSL points table at the moment with 4 wins and 3 losses in their 8 games with one game being washed out. They should finish in top 4 if they win one out of their remaining two games. Their next game is scheduled this Thursday against the Multan Sultans in Sharjah.
