Being such a huge public figure in India, it is difficult for India skipper Virat Kohli to find time for his personal life. The man with numerous followers around the world is particular about his personal life apart from cricket. In one of his recent public appearances, he revealed about his favorite holiday destination as he prioritizes certain places given they don’t hinder his privacy.
According to Virat, celebrities in India don’t have the luxury to enjoy much privacy. In the time away from the sport, Kohli is a firm believer of enjoying his free time at places where he is not a known figure.
Would love places where no one recognizes you
The cricketer is much specific about his choices, places that let him cool off from the game and help him in relaxing in the best possible ways, are the best ones. “Somewhere in Europe would be my ideal holiday spot,” Kohli said at a recent event.
“If I want to go on a holiday where no one recognizes us, then somewhere in Europe or one of the Arctic countries where there is so much snow. I have been there, it is fantastic. No one knows you there and you can walk on the streets unnoticed.”
While playing cricket, Kohli prefers Australia, where he can spend some time with his loved ones. “But if I am playing cricket and I need some downtime, then I think Australia is a great place, “the skipper mentioned.
A great admirer of Federer
Kohli has been a huge fan of the Tennis legend, Roger Federer. The cricketer has at times, even managed to watch some of his games live in the stadium. He is really moved by his approach towards life and the intent that still keeps him going at such an age.
“When he plays, it’s beautiful. He has a family now, priorities set, he takes time out of the game without worrying about opinions and criticism of people and then he comes in and wins Grand Slams. At 36, he is defying logic and that is something that I love,” Kohli said.
