Former India skipper MS Dhoni, whose truancy has led to rise in his retirement rumours, is set to celebrate his 39th birthday on July 7. Despite being away from the game for almost a year now, the veteran’s fan-following hasn’t diminished a bit. One of the most loved Indian players, Dhoni has been on a sabbatical from international post India’s oust from 2019 World Cup.

Since his international absence, Dhoni has been inactive on social media too. However, his wife Sakshi has often shared a glimpse of the veteran. The Ranchi superstar was expected to make a comeback on the cricket field during the 13th edition of the IPL.

The wicketkeeper-batsman even had participated in the CSK training camp which was eventually cancelled in the wake of COVID-19 debacle. After the indefinite postponement of the cash-rich league, Dhoni has been spending his time with his family at his Jharkhand farmhouse. Dhoni’s international future was reliant on his IPL 2020 performance. However, the tournament’s commencement is in jeopardy and so is Dhoni’s comeback.

Amid the uncertainty revolving around Dhoni’s future with Team India, fans are eagerly waiting for the veteran to brace the field again. Ahead of his 39th birthday, fans have already started sharing photos and videos of the CSK skipper. Dhoni’s CSK teammate Dwayne Bravo has also announced to release a song on the Indian stalwart’s birthday.

Bravo, who took the social media by storm by launching the superhit song ‘Champion’ in 2016, posted a teaser of his upcoming song ‘Number 7’, which is going to be a tribute to Dhoni.

“Are you ready for July 7th!! @mahi7781 birthday we going to be celebrating his birthday in style with this special track from the Champion team!! @djanamusic @ultrasimmo @collegeboyjesse @arielle.alexa @dexterrthomas guys don’t forget to tag us an let us see your helicopter dance!!” shared Bravo for the fans.

Sharing the lyrics of the much-awaited song, Bravo was heard singing: “MS Dhoni, number 7, MS Dhoni, number 7. 2007 T20 Champion, 2011 became the world champion, first captain to win every trophy for his nation, now everybody do the helicopter celebration.”
