'Everyone gives you an antisocial look when you sneeze or cough' - Ravichandran Ashwin mulls over the outbreak of Coronavirus
Ashwin shared a message about his experience of travelling in airplanes amidst the coronavirus outbreak.
The Coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan, China has put the entire world on standstill. The deadly virus has killed 304 people in China alone till February 1 and the majority of foreign nations have put a travel ban for their citizens to China. There are also evacuation attempts underway to take out citizens of other nations as well, with India using an Air India plane to carry out more than 400 students stuck in the country.
Meanwhile, India has also confirmed the country’s second case of the virus, in Kerala where a patient with a history of travel to China was diagnosed with the virus and quarantined. Meanwhile, in the centrepoint of the virus outbreak in Wuhan, a 1,000-bed field hospital under construction by the military has been completed and handed to health workers, according to the China Daily. The Huoshenshan Hospital will be staffed by 1,400 military medics.
Meanwhile, not only China, but precautions are being taken by everyone travelling by any means of transport, but the major risk in airways travel in the international circuits. People are wearing a mask, keeping themselves safe and trying to look out for themselves. Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was also one such traveller and took to social media to share his experience of the paranoia in current travellers when it comes to seeing anyone sick.

Taking to short messaging site Twitter, R Ashwin shared a message about his experience of travelling in airplanes amidst the coronavirus outbreak and how paranoid people have become and seeing their fellow travellers with an eye of distrust. “Times have changed so much that when you sneeze or cough, everyone inside the flight gives you a very antisocial sort of look. #coronovirusoutbreak,” he tweeted.
Meanwhile, apart from India, Saudi Arabia have also evacuated their students from China, however, Pakistan has refused to do so in order to show solidarity with China. Approximately 500 Pakistani citizens are stuck in China, with many students crying for help on seeing their Indian counterparts being evacuated from the epicentre of the virus outbreak.
The first batch of 324 Indian citizens, had reached Delhi on Saturday. While the second batch saw 323 citizens onboard Air India plane, along with 10 Maldivians taking off early on Sunday.
