Faf du Plessis hilariously shows off his bum to tease his teammates in a video posted by Cricket South Africa
In the video posted on Instagram by CSA, it can be seen that the South African players are taking part in a running challenge.
The South African side has been going through a transitional phase in international cricket. Since the disastrous World Cup 2019, the team has been trying to get together and build a solid combination. After their recent 3-0 series win against Australia, the Proteas had arrived in India with some high hopes.
But, the first ODI in Dharamsala got abandoned due to rain. Once the teams landed in Lucknow, the announcement of the series been cancelled arrived. Due to the scare of coronavirus, the South African team had to stay back in their hotels in India. While staying there, the mood in the change room was quite positive though. At least going by the video uploaded by Cricket South Africa on their Instagram page, it seems that the Proteas are pretty charged up.
In the video posted on Instagram by CSA, it can be seen that the South African players are taking part in a running challenge. It can be assumed that there were two groups. In one group, Lungi Ngidi, Andile Phehlukwayo, Rassie Van der Dussen were there. While the other group consisted of a few other players. Only Faf du Plessis could be recognised from the second team.
Faf du Plessis’ funny gesture is the best thing on Instagram today
Interestingly, towards the end of the video one can see du Plessis making a funny gesture when all players cross each other. The former captain decides to expose his bum while making fun of his teammates. While the two teams cross each other, the team consisting of Ngidi and Van der Dussen are seen celebrating. Du Plessis’ team doesn’t react but the batsman decides to take upon himself to mock the opposition.
Here’s the video:
The South African players have now returned to their country. The squad which toured India has been advised to stay at their home for the next two weeks. The chief medical officer of Cricket South Africa, Dr Shuaib Manjra said, “We have recommended the players social distance themselves from others and self-isolate for a minimum of 14 days. I think that is proper guidance to protect themselves, people around them, their families and their communities.”
It was also revealed by him that the players will be monitored closely. If any symptoms are found in a member of the squad, he will be tested for the coronavirus.
