Of all the teams contesting for IPL, it can be seen that CSK is going to have a hard time as their many players are set to join them late. According to latest reports, CSK’s star batsman Faf du Plessis will set foot late in IPL as he is expecting his second child, he may not be seen before September. Along with du Plessis, Lungi Ngidi may also be a latecomer.

The Australian contingent of CSK constituting head coach, batting coach Stephen Fleming, Mike Hussey, and all-rounder Shane Watson are expected to touch UAE around August 22. Now, the key figures like Dwayne Bravo, Imran Tahir, and reserved Mitchell Santner are part of the Caribbean Premier League where the action is set to begin on August 18. So, their arrival dates are also under a question mark.

The trouble doesn’t end here for the 3-time champions CSK. It has been reported that Josh Hazlewood and England’s Sam Curran will join the team only after mid- September, owing to some international commitments.

CSK fitness and practice camp to begin in Chennai from August 15

CSK are set to have their 5-day training camp at their home ground, MA Chidambaram stadium. Players here will focus on their fitness and forms ahead of the big contest. Speaking to The Times of India, CSK’s bowling coach Lakshmipathy Balaji stated– “We will look to continue from where we left off in March. The key to success in the IPL is to perform collectively.

Our aim will be to regroup as a team and start our preparations. But each player will have their own different routines and formula to prepare for the tournament. The idea is to give them enough space and freedom to understand their body and find their rhythm before coming together as a group.”
