The 35-year-old was first bought by CSK back in 2011. But later on, the franchise was handed with a two-year suspension and he played for Rising Pune Supergiants for a couple of seasons. However, he was picked by the same franchise when they marked their comeback into the tournament.
Faf du Plessis reveals his favourite IPL moments
Recently, CSK shared a clip on social media in which Faf du Plessis revealed his favourite moment memory after getting nominated by Suresh Raina under the hashtag #MyIPLmoment. He said that it has been great to be part of CSK from last 10 years. He also added that he had some great memories while playing in IPL but if he had to pick one then it will be Suresh Raina’s ton against Kings XI Punjab in 2013 that won them the game.
Next, he picked Dwayne Bravo’s innings against Mumbai Indians from 2018 edition when he scored 68 off 30 balls. As per him, it was an unbelievable knock and he still doesn’t know how CSK won that thrilling encounter. Last but not the least, he also mentioned Shane Watson’s century in 2019 final that helped Chennai Super Kings in lifting their 3rd IPL trophy. Also, he nominated former CSK player Michael Hussey to share his IPL moments.
“In 2013, Suresh Raina scored a hundred against Kings XI Punjab that won us a game on his own. That was a fantastic inning. Fast forward to 2018, Dwayne Bravo against Mumbai Indians. We were completely out of the game, he came in it 7-8 and 67 or 70 off 40-odd balls. That was basically hitting just sixes. How we won that game I still don’t know it. There was a Shane Watson played a knock in 2018 final when he got a hundred and won on its own,” Faf du Plessis said in the video posted by CSK.
