Fans surprised as Sherfane Rutherford arrives to play for Karachi Kings in Mumbai Indians kit
Sherfane Rutherford recently took part in IPL 2020 and will now play for Karachi Kings in PSL.
IPL 2020 might have come to an end but it looks like West Indies star Sherfane Rutherford is yet to get over it. The thirteenth edition of the tournament came to an end on Tuesday (November 10) when Rutherford’s team Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals by five wickets in the title-decider to clinch their fifth IPL title.
But while it has been more than four days since the IPL ended, it looks like Rutherford is still in IPL mood as he was spotted in his Mumbai Indians kit when he arrived in Pakistan for the upcoming games of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020. Karachi Kings posted a photo of their West Indian recruit at the airport on their official Twitter handle to welcome him.
The eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that the 22-year was still wearing his Mumbai Indians jacket and mask as they came up with mixed reactions to it. While some Karachi Kings expressed their disappointment over the same, some made fun of the player arriving for PSL in Mumbai Indians’ kit.

Not much action for Sherfane Rutherford
While the IPL 2020 ended on a good note for Sherfane Rutherford, he must be disappointed over not getting a chance to play a single game this season. Mumbai Indians had roped in the West Indies batsman from Delhi Capitals last year in a trade deal after sending spinner Mayank Markande the other way.
Rutherford had played seven games for Delhi Capitals in his maiden IPL season. Capitals had bought him for a whopping INR 2 crore from a base price of INR 40 lakh in the December 2018 auction following his exploits in the Caribbean Premier League. The Guyana star will be hoping to get some game time for Karachi Kings in the PSL.
The playoffs of the PSL 2020 are scheduled to start on November 14 while the final is scheduled to take place on the 17th of the month. In March this year, PSL had to be postponed just before the playoffs stage due to the coronavirus outbreak.
