Fans troll Russel Arnold over Sri Lanka's exit from the Asia Cup; latter responds
Afghanistan won by 91 runs and Sri Lanka's Asia Cup campaign.

Sri Lanka suffered a shocking exit from the ongoing Asia Cup prematurely after losing both their group games against Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Even for a neutral fan, it hurts to see the way went down on both the occasions as their batting unit failed to gun down the 250 odd totals. They didn’t even compete and looked lacklustre in the field and dropped catches which eventually hurt them. However, the former cricketer Russel Arnold has termed their loss to Afghanistan as upset and was disappointed to see the way they lost.
Arnold is often known to trigger the Indian fans with his witty tweets against the Indian team and he had done the same during the recently concluded Test between England and India. Moreover, he had even tweeted jokingly ahead of the Asia Cup saying that he would like to see Sri Lanka play against India and Pakistan both and it would be sad if one of those teams is knocked out in the group stage.
As it turned out, Sri Lanka find themselves out of the competition now and it will be the first time that they won’t face India and Pakistan in an Asia Cup edition.
I do hope we get to see both #SLvInd and #SLvPak games at #AsiaCup … it will be a shame if we only get to see one of those games 😏

Arnold congratulates Afghanistan
After such a thumping loss, it is natural that Russel Arnold is being targetted on social media and is being trolled. However, he has accepted the defeat and admitted that it hurts to see his team going down very badly in both their matches. But the 44-year-old was all praise of Afghanistan team who played like professionals and showed immense maturity to showcase their progress as the full member nation at the highest level.
Arnold though didn’t forget to mention that cricket is the game of uncertainties and termed Sri Lanka’s loss to them as an upset. In reality, Afghanistan looked a much better team on the day and Angelo Mathews’ men didn’t show any intent throughout the game eventually going down meekly.
Here is Arnold’s series of tweets:
My timeline is flooded….Ooopps…. wonder why ?🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
