ICC Twitter handle perhaps makes the news headlines more than the ICC. The handle is very popular among the cricket fans and it makes sure to make the most of it. Time and again, the governing body puts up tweets that compel the fans across the globe to give divided opinions. The ICC found itself in a similar situation once again on Tuesday (August 13).
It all started when the apex body took to Twitter to conduct a poll on the occasion of International Left-handers Day. The day is observed annually on August 13 to celebrate the uniqueness and differences of the left-handers in a predominantly right-handed world. The ICC put the photos of some of the greatest left-handers to have graced the game and wrote, “Let us know who your favourite left-hander is!”
To mark the special day, the ICC made a collage of some of the greatest left-handed players. However, some of the fans were not at all impressed when they could not find their beloved left-handers in the picture. The list did have some notable omissions.
But then again ICC should be spared since they did not have the space to include all the famous left-handers. The players who found a place in the collage were – Sourav Ganguly, Kumar Sangakkara, Brian Lara, Alastair Cook, Garfield Sobers, Adam Gilchrist, Zaheer Khan, Mitchell Johnson, Shakib Al Hasan and Wasim Akram.
Here is the tweet that ICC posted on International Left-handers Day
Happy #internationallefthandersday ????

Fans not at all impressed with the tweet
The motive of the tweet was very clear. The ICC wanted the fans to reveal the name of their favorite left-handers from cricket. But the fans were not at all impressed after seeing the collage. The users soon bombarded ICC’s Twitter handle questioning the omission of Sanath Jayasuriya, David Warner, Yuvraj Singh, Saeed Anwar, and others from the picture.
Here are some of the reactions
Where’s Sanath Jayasuriya? This graphic is nothing without him

The apex body also faced heat on Twitter recently for keeping Virat Kohli as their cover picture on Twitter. Some of the Twitter users didn’t like ICC hailing Virat Kohli time and again.
