Auckland Aces will lock horns with Otago Volts in the 23rd match of the Super Smash 2023 at the Eden Park Outer Oval in Auckland on January 14. Canterbury Kings have played four games where they have won two and are placed second in the rankings while Central Stags have managed to win just one of their four games and are ranked fourth.
Auckland Aces squared off against Northern Knights in their last match where Northern Knights won the toss and elected to bat. They could not make the most of having chosen to bat as they kept losing wickets one after the other. Joe Carter did play a fabulous knock in the middle of 48 runs but he did not receive much help as his team was reduced to a total of 121 runs. The chase was an easy task for the Aces despite losing two wickets in the batting powerplay. Sean Solia’s half-century was enough for them to win the game by eight wickets.
Otago Volts had played against Central Stags in their last encounter where Otago Volts won the toss and elected to field. Stags lost a wicket early in the game a centurion partnership for the second wicket which was led by Will Young who completed his century as well, turned the game around. They posted a string total of 187 runs on the board. Otago made an aggressive start to the chase but in the attempt to do so, they lost a couple of wickets early. They failed to make good partnerships in the middle due to which they lost the game by 52 runs.

Player Picks
Jacob Gibson OV | BOWL
Gibson has been fantastic with the ball scalping eight wickets in seven matches so far. He has contributed well with the bat too, scoring 87 runs down the order, and should be the captain you are looking for.
Danru Ferns AUK | BOWL
Ferns has been phenomenal in the tournament with as many as 10 wickets and 29 runs to his name in only games. He should be the one leading your fantasy side for this coming game.
Avoid Having These Players In Your Fantasy Sports Team
Ben Lockrose
OV | BOWL
Lockrose has had a poor season so far being able to scalp only three wickets. He should not find a place in your fantasy team.
Dale Phillips
OV | BAT
Dale has had a very ordinary season where he has been able to score only 50 runs off the bat. He should not be placed in your fantasy side.
