Andre Russell was the highest scorer for the team and made 46 runs off just 17 deliveries. Fazalhaq Farooqi was the pick of the bowlers for MI and took three wickets for 35 runs in four overs. Muhammad Waseem scored 87 runs off 61 deliveries for MI and helped the team reach the target of 189 runs in 19 overs. MI won the match by eight wickets and Waseem was adjudged Player of the Match.

Giants locked horns against Dubai Capitals in their previous outing, where the Capitals lost their first five wickets for just 67 runs. Sikandar Raza played a fine knock of 47 runs off 36 deliveries and helped the Capitals post a total of 132 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Carlos Brathwaite was the most successful bowler for the Giants. The Giants lost a few wickets in succession in the middle overs but managed to cross the line in 18.4 overs with three wickets in hand. Brathwaite won the Player of the Match award.
