Afghanistan (AFG) and Pakistan (PAK) will clash in the 13th T20 World Cup 2022 Warm-up match at Brisbane Cricket Ground in Brisbane on Wednesday. Afghanistan won their first warm-up clash against Bangladesh with a dominant all-round display. In-form batter Ibrahim Zadran scored 46 runs off 39 balls and Mohammad Nabi smashed an unbeaten 41 runs off 17 balls to help Afghanistan score 160/7 while batting first. Bowlers put in impressive spells with Fazalhaq Farooqi taking three and Fareez Ahmad grabbing two wickets to restrict Bangladesh to 98/9 to earn a well-deserved 62-run win.
Pakistan lost their first warm-up clash against England by six wickets after their triumph in the New Zealand Tri-Series last week. Pakistan managed to score 160/8 while batting first with opener Shan Masood scoring the highest 39 runs off 22 balls. But bowlers struggled for wickets as England easily chased the target with six wickets and 38 balls remaining. Mohammad Wasim took two wickets at an impressive economy rate of 6.0 and Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah grabbed one wicket each.
The star pacer Shaheen Afridi made his injury return in the last match but was restricted to bowling only two overs. Stat batters Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were rested against England but are expected to feature against Afghanistan on Wednesday.
