Adelaide Strikers Women (AS-W) will face Melbourne Renegades Women (MR-W) in the 23rd match of the Women’s Big Bash League 2024 on Monday, November 11, at the Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide. The Strikers are in the last position in the points table with one win to their name in five matches. The Renegades have won and lost three matches each and are in third position.

The Strikers faced Brisbane Heat Women in their last outing and elected to bowl after winning the toss. The Heat posted a total of 175 runs for the loss of six wickets on the board. Jemma Barsby was the pick of the bowlers for the Strikers and took two wickets for 34 runs in four overs. The Strikers lost three early wickets but a partnership of 38 runs between Tahlia McGrath and Bridget Patterson for the fourth wicket helped them jump back. Patterson further had an unbeaten partnership of 113 runs for the fifth wicket with Madeline Penna. Both the batters scored a half-century each. However, the Strikers fell short of the target by eight runs as they finished with 167 runs for the loss of four wickets on the board.

The Renegades defeated Melbourne Stars Women in their last outing by 15 runs after posting a total of 146 runs for the loss of six wickets. Alice Capsey made 33 runs off just 15 deliveries for the Renegades and was the highest scorer for the team. The Stars managed 131 runs for the loss of nine wickets. All six bowlers took one wicket each for the Renegades.
