Australia (AUS) will lock horns with the West Indies (WI) in the first T20I of the three-match series at Bellerive Oval in Hobart on Friday, February 9.
Australia are coming into this T20I series on the back of a 1-4 series defeat over India in December 2023. Though they are brimming with confidence after their 3-0 clean sweep in the ODI series, Australia have a lot of chinks in their armor in the shortest format of the game.
After missing out on the India series, David Warner is back for the West Indies series. Glenn Maxwell will be playing a crucial role in both the batting and bowling departments.
On the other hand, West Indies thumped England by 3-2 in their most recent five-match T20I series at home in December 2023. They have exceptional players in their T20I side and it would be an interesting battle between favorites Australia and strong contenders West Indies in this three-match series.
Nicholas Pooran will be leading the team with Andre Russell, Johnson Charles, Jason Holder, and Akeal Hosein being part of the impressive squad. Romario Shepherd, Alzarri Joseph, and Oshane Thomas are some of the pace options available for them alongside Russell.
