Australia (AUS) will be up against West Indies (WI) in the 2nd ODI of the West Indies tour of Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney on February 4. As expected, Australia started the series with a thumping win and would be expected to win this game as well while West Indies might be eyeing for a return.
Both these teams had squared off against each other in the first game of the series which was played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground where Australia won the toss and elected to field. West Indies did not have much to present to the game with the bat. Keacy Carty and Roston Chase stood out with the bat as they both reached their half-centuries each where Carty was unlucky to have been run out on 88 and missed his century. No other batters could contribute significantly and the team managed to score a total of just 231 runs.
Australia, had a very modest chase ahead of them after a fantastic performance with the ball, especially Xavier Bartlett putting up a great show. Head went back to the pavilion in the first over of the innings as he threw his wicket to Forde. However, Josh Inglis and Cameron Green joined hands to stitch together a beautiful partnership worth 79 runs. Skipper Smith joined the party when Inglis left the crease and he too went on to score a fifty after the other two. After such a brilliant display with the bat, Australia easily won the game by eight wickets.
