Australia (AUS) will be up against West Indies (WI) in the 3rd ODI of the West Indies tour of Australia at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on February 6. As expected, Australia started the series with a thumping win and won the last game as well thus sealing the series already. They would be looking for a clean sweep, while West Indies would be playing for their pride.
In the second game of the series, West Indies won the toss and elected to field. Australia made quite some changes in their Playing X,I and with Jake & Josh as their openers, they did not start well. The scoring rate was good, but they lost three wickets early, due to which levers were pulled back. Matthew Short and then Sean Abbott played brilliant knocks down the order, which helped Australia propel to a decent total of 258.
West Indies would have considered this as a chaseable total at the start of the innings and would have taken this total at the time of the toss as well. However, things unraveled a bit differently as they lost wickets upfront, similar to their counterparts. A good partnership was made for the fourth wicket as well but made a difference was the knock by Abbott. The Windies lacked a batter to play that role and were bundled for 175, losing the game by 83 runs. Sean Abbott did a great job with the ball as well and was awarded Player of the Match.
