Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will take on the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 17th game of the Indian Premier League 2023 on Wednesday (April 12) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. CSK have dominated RR in the head-to-head contests with 15 wins in 27 games. RR have found success against the four-time champions on four out of five occasions.
Both teams have played three and won two games so far this season. RR are placed in the second position in the points table, while the CSK are fifth. CSK defeated Mumbai Indians in their last outing by seven wickets after chasing the target of 158 runs in 18.1 overs. Ravindra Jadeja starred with the ball as he picked up three wickets for 20 runs in four overs. Ajinkya Rahane made his CSK debut and scored 61 runs off just 27 deliveries.
RR’s batters delivered another batting masterclass in their last game against the Delhi Capitals. They posted a total of 199 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs while batting first. Both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler scored a half-century each for RR. Trent Boult picked a total of three wickets, including two in his very first over. He finished with three wickets for 29 runs in four overs and bowled a maiden over as well. Yuzvendra Chahal continued his dream run with three wickets for 27 runs in four overs. Jaiswal was adjudged the Player of the Match award for his knock of 60 runs off just 31 deliveries. RR won the game by 57 runs as DC managed 142 runs in 20 overs.
