England will be up against Australia in the 2nd Test Match of The Ashes 2023 at the Lord’s in London from June 28. The first match of the series was much hyped and interesting. It went through to the very last day, where the Australian captain held his nerves tight and won the match for Australia. England would be desperate to make a comeback and equal the series.
The last match was played at the Edgbaston in Birmingham, where England won the toss and decided to bat. This decision was proven right with the start given by their opener Zak Crawley. He played a wonderful innings and was joined by Joe Root, who was simply phenomenal, scoring yet another century. Bairstow also played a fearless knock, which helped England declare the innings at the score of 393. Khawaja led the counterattack from Australia as Smith and Marnus failed to mark their impression. Apart from Khawaja’s century, Head and Carey scored half-centuries each, which helped Australia reach 386.
In the second innings, England could not replicate their first innings intensity as the openers fell without doing much. The middle order, in the form of Root, Brook, and Stokes, did fire and had scores in the 40s, respectively, but none of them could cross the fifty-run mark. They had set the target of 281 runs for Australia, which was going to be a challenging total. Khawaja looked brilliant, similar to the first innings and scored a fantastic fifty. The middle order could not do much, and England could smell victory, but the captain of Australia stood his ground until he made sure that his team crossed the victory line and gave Australia a memorable win.

Player Picks
Joe Root ENG | BAT
Root looked absolutely flawless and smashed bowlers all round the park. He made a total of 164 runs in the last game and should definitely lead your fantasy team.
Usman Khawaja AUS | BAT
Khawaja was phenomenal in the last game and scored runs in both the innings. He scored 206 runs in the last match which included a century and a half-century each.
Steve Smith AUS | BAT
Although Smith could not contribute much in the last encounter but the class he holds, he would not be unsuccessful for long. You can trust him and make him your captain in this match.
Avoid Having These Players In Your Fantasy Sports Team
Scott Boland
AUS | BOWL
Boland could scalp just two wickets in the last game. He should not find a place in your fantasy side.
Ben Duckett
ENG | WK
Duckett could score only a total of 31 runs batting in both innings and did not look impressive. He should not find a place in your team.
