Bangladesh played their first game of the tournament against Afghanistan, where they won the toss and elected to bowl. Afghanistan were bundled out for 156 runs in 37.2 overs. Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shakib Al Hasan took three wickets each for Bangladesh. Bangladesh chased down the target of 157 runs in 34.4 overs and won the game by six wickets.
