Germany will lock horns with Portugal in the 1st Qualifier match of Group F of the European Cricket Championship at the Cartama Oval in Cartama on October 14. Germany have had a great run so far, winning all their four matches and finishing the league stage at the top of the table in Group F. Portugal, on the other hand, have been good as well, where they have won three of their four matches and finished in second position.

Germany had played off against Scotland XI in their last encounter, where Scotland XI won the toss and elected to bat. They started horribly, as they had already lost four wickets within three overs.  However, their middle order then came into the picture and calmed the storm for them. They scored decently and took the team to a total of 95 runs. Germany lost a wicket early but had brilliantly partnerships for second and third wickets, due to which they easily won the match by six wickets with three overs to spare.

Portugal had played off against Luxembourg in their last encounter, where Portugal won the toss and elected to bat. They started explosively, scoring heavily right from the start. They lost a couple of wickets there on, but they increased their scoring rate in the middle, and as a result, by the end of the innings, they easily made a total of 137 runs. Luxembourg could not start well, and even though their middle order scored well, they kept losing wickets, due to which they could never reach the target and lost the match by 41 runs.
