Gujarat Giants Women will take on UP Warriorz Women in the third match of the Women's Premier League. This match will be played at Kotambi Stadium. 32 matches will be played in the group stages. The top team in the leaderboard will directly qualify for the final. Teams in the following two positions will play against each other in the eliminator, the winner of which will face the top team in the table in the grand finale.

UP Warriorz have been dealt a big blow before the start of the season with Alyssa Healy ruled out. Deepti Sharma will captain the team for this edition. West Indies all-rounder Chinelle Henry will replace Healy. UP Warriorz have had mixed results in the previous two editions with their highest table position being third place. They have added a few players and will be hoping to have some change in fortunes. 

For the third time in three seasons, Gujarat Giants kickstarted their Women's Premier League campaign with a defeat as they lost against Royal Challengers Bengaluru yesterday. Despite scoring 200 in the first innings on the back of an excellent 79* by Ash Gardner they could not close out the match. Bowling and fielding of Gujarat Giants was below par and they dropped three catches which included dropping Richa on duck as she went on to score 67. They will be keen to put up a better performance with the ball and in the field.
