Brisbane Heat (HEA) and Melbourne Renegades (REN) will play the third game of the Big Bash League 2022 on Thursday (December 14) at Cazaly's Stadium in Cairns. This will be the first BBL game at this venue. Both teams had horrible outings last season. Heat finished in the second-last position, and Renegades were in the last place.
Heat picked some big names like Sam Billings, Usman Khawaja, and Colin Munro in the draft. Khawaja is named the captain of the team. He and Marnus Labuschagne will join the squad once the Test series between Australia and South Africa. They released Chris Lynn, who was the captain as well as the leading run-scorer for the team. On the other hand, the Renegades signed Andre Russell, Akeal Hosein, and Mujeeb ur Rahman in the draft. Russell will leave after playing four matches for the Renegades and will be replaced by Martin Guptill. Nic Maddinson, the captain of the squad, will be playing his 100th BBL game on Wednesday.
