In their recent clash, Heat went up against Hobart Hurricanes, with the Hurricanes winning the toss and opting to bowl. Brisbane Heat faced early challenges as they lost their first wicket in the sixth over with only 35 runs on the board. Despite several batters struggling to establish a solid start, Colin Munro emerged as the standout performer, scoring 56 runs off 47 deliveries. Munro's innings played a pivotal role in helping the Heat post a total of 132 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Chris Jordan showcased exceptional bowling skills for the Hurricanes, earning the title of the pick of the bowlers. Jordan secured three crucial wickets, conceding 19 runs in his four-over spell. Nathan Ellis contributed with two wickets, while Patrick Dooley and Nikhil Chaudhary claimed one wicket each, adding to the effectiveness of the Hurricanes' bowling attack.
As the second innings commenced, it was reduced to 16 overs, and the Hurricanes had to chase a revised target of 118 runs for victory. However, they encountered significant setbacks, losing half of their wickets with only 56 runs on the board by the ninth over. Nikhil Chaudhary emerged as the highest scorer for the Hurricanes, amassing 55 runs off 37 deliveries. Despite a valiant effort, the Hurricanes fell short, managing to score 116 runs for the loss of nine wickets. The match concluded with a narrow one-run victory for Brisbane Heat, with Xavier Bartlett emerging as the most successful bowler, taking three wickets in his four-over spell while conceding 30 runs.
Scrochers faced Sydney Thunder in their last match and elected to bowl after winning the toss. Thunder lost their first wicket for 35 runs in the 7th over in the form of Cameron Bancroft. They lost their second wicket for 88 runs and then lost a series of wickets. Thunder lost the next five wickets for just 20 runs. Alex Hales emerged as the highest scorer with the bat for the team and made 72 runs off 55 deliveries.
