The Capitals took on Toyam Hyderabad in their first outing of the season and elected to bat after winning the toss. They posted a total of 185 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Ben Dunk was the highest scorer for the team and scored 60 runs off 35 deliveries. Hyderabad finished with 184 runs for the loss of seven wickets on the board and lost the match by one run. Dhawal Kulkarni and Rahul Sharma took two wickets each for the Capitals.

The Super Stars took on Gujarat Greats in their first game, where the Greats elected to bowl after winning the toss. The Super Stars made 144 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Chathuranga de Silva remained unbeaten on 53 runs off 28 deliveries. The Greats managed 118 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by 26 runs. Pawan Negi was the pick of the bowlers and picked three wickets for 13 runs in four overs.
