In the first ODI game, the Ireland women batted first, and they posted a decent total of 238/7 in the given 50 overs of play. The side's star wasn't encouraging, and Irish women were seen struggling at 54/4 in the 14th over of the game. However, star batters Gaby Lewis and Leah Paul showcased their stellar batting performance of 117 runs for the fifth wicket stand. Lewis made 92 off 129 balls, featuring 15 boundaries, while Paul hammered 59 runs to get their side past the 230-run mark and finished at 238 runs in 50 overs of the game.

In reply to that, Indian opening batters Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal started well. The duo stitched 70 runs off the stand for the first wicket and instilled hopes for an easy chance for the rest of the team. Mandhana made 41 off 29 balls while Rawal hammered 89 for her side to help hosts comfortably outclass Gaby Lewis and her women in the 35th over of the game with six wickets in hand.
