Meerut Mavericks were the most successful team in the league stage of the tournament last year. Under Madhav Kaushik's leadership, they won seven out of 10 games and finished in first place. Rinku Singh has been appointed the captain of the side for this season. The franchise picked eight players in the auction. Uvais Ahmed became the most expensive player for the team and they shelled out INR 20 lakh for him. Uvais was with the Mavericks last season and was released before the auction. He had made 159 runs in seven outings in the first season at a strike rate of 176.67.

Kashi Rudras finished the group stage last season in third position with five wins and losses each in 10 outings. Karan Sharma led the side to the trophy last season and will captain the team this year as well. He was the leading run-scorer last season and made 606 runs in 12 games. Kashi Rudras shelled out INR 20.50 lakh for pacer Shivam Mavi at the auction table. Mavi became the second-most expensive player in the auction.
