After over two months and 73 matches later, the Indian Premier League 2024 season has reached its finale. The all-important game of the season will witness Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) play each other at Chepauk in Chennai. In the prior two meetings, KKR have beaten SRH each time to show their superiority over the Pat Cummins-led side.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) ended the league phases at the top of the table with 20 points from 14 matches. Nine wins, three losses, and two no results meant that they played in the first qualifier. The two-time IPL winners beat SRH in that game by eight wickets with half-centuries by Shreyas and Venkatesh Iyer. The men from Kolkata would want to continue their ruthless brand of cricket and take back the third title to the Eden Gardens stadium.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) were placed second in the league, having piped Rajasthan Royals to the post. After their loss in the first qualifier, Pat Cummins and his team dominated the Royals in the 2nd qualifier to make it to the final. With a free-scoring team and bowlers in form, the 2016 champions are at the top of the game. This is a great chance for their skipper to write his name in the history books as one of the best modern-day leaders.

Player Picks
Sunil Narine KKR | ALL
Kolkata Knight Riders star Sunil Narine has been at the top of his game as a batter and also as a bowler to help his reach he finals. Sunil Narine will want to make his birthday memorable with yet another match winning performance.
Abhishek Sharma SRH | ALL
Abhishek Sharma turned the 2nd qualifier around with his bowling performance to evoke praise from some of the former stars. The 23-year-old has been the player to watch out for this year and his batting feats have made everyone sit up and take notice.
Heinrich Klaasen SRH | WK
IPL 2024 has been memorable for Heinrich Klaasen as the South African has been in brutal hitting form. His composed knock against the Royals was a great example of why he is such a huge asset for his his side.
Shreyas Iyer KKR | BAT
The skipper of Kolkata Knight Riders was at his best with the bat in the first qualifier game of IPL 2024. If Shreyas Iyer can repeat the same feat, he will end the season on a high note after a quiet start with the bat.
Travis Head SRH | BAT
Hyderabad opener Travis Head will want to make the IPL 2024 memorable just like he had done during the ICC ODI World Cup finals. The left-handed batter has been in brutal form and would want to make it a great season personally and for his team with a possible IPL title win.
Venkatesh Iyer KKR | ALL
Venkatesh Iyer has stormed back to form with the bat during the IPL 2024 season and made the selectors take note of his big hitting skills. His half-century in the previous game was brutal and ended any hopes of an SRH win inside 14 overs.
Pat Cummins SRH | BOWL
Australian star Pat Cummins will lead the team onto the field for the last time this season and will want to do everything to get the IPL title in his grasp. The 31-year-old has been an inspirational figure with the ball and has been the best captain of the season along with Shreyas Iyer.
Mitchell Starc KKR | BOWL
Fats bowler Mitchell Starc will have a lot of responsibility with the new ball and will want to cause the same sort of damage like he had done in the last game. If Starc can get early wickets for KKR they will have an early advantage in the final considering that the SRH top order is dangerous.
Varun Chakravarthy KKR | BOWL
The role of Varun Chakravarthy with the ball has been great in the last few matches. The right-arm spinner has been economical and also picked wickets at regular intervals. This will give Shreyas Iyer a good chance to entrust him to bowl in the middle overs to put the brakes on the scoring.
Avoid Having These Players In Your Fantasy Sports Team
Rinku Singh
KKR | BAT
For a player who was high on confidence not too long ago the slide that Rinku Singh has dealt with has been nothing short of spectacular. Rinku Singh will hope he can come good with the bat and make himself a hero for his team.
Abdul Samad
SRH | BAT
With a string of low scores, Abdul Samad has been in tremendous pressure to come good for his side. The IPL 2024 final is one last chance for Abdul Samad to prove his worth ahead of the mega auctions set to take place next year.
