Lyca Kovai Kings had squared off against IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans in their last match, where IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans won the toss and elected to field. Losing the toss and being put to bat, they had started horribly, as they had already lost three wickets within three overs. It was Sai Sudarshan in the middle who saved face for them and scored the bulk of the runs. His innings helped them post a total of 179 runs on the board. Tamizhans lost a wicket early but had a good second-wicket partnership. However, they then lost seven wickets for just 37 runs which pulled them back severely, and Kings won the match by a huge margin of 70 runs.

Nellai Royal Kings had played against Siechem Madurai Panthers in their last encounter, where Siechem Madurai Panthers won the toss and elected to bat. The Panthers did not have a good start as they had lost their first wicket for just three runs. They lost another wicket soon as well and looked to be in trouble, but that is when Hari Nishaanth came into play with his brilliant knock of 64 runs. The Panthers posted a total of 126 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Kings had a good start and continued with their run rate even after losing a few wickets. They easily chased down the score and won the match by six wickets with more than six overs to spare.
