Malta will lock horns with Luxembourg in the 5th match of the Mdina Cup 2023 at the Marsa Sports Club in Marsa on July 12. Malta have won two of their three matches and are in the second position in the rankings. Luxembourg, on the other hand, are yet to win any match so far in the tournament and are languishing at the bottom of the table.

Both these teams had squared off against each other in the third match of the tournament, where Malta emerged victorious in the end. The match was played at the same venue where Luxembourg won the toss and they chose to field. Malta's innings was a one-man show where the entire team failed to score runs except their opener Zeeshan Khan. Zeeshan played a fantastic innings of 115 runs off just 64 balls. His knock helped the team score a massive total of 179 runs for the loss of eight wickets.

Luxembourg's innings was not so very limited to the performance of a single batter and was scattered throughout the team. Although they still could not perform the way they would have wanted to. Vikram Vijh was Luxembourg's highest scorer, scoring 44 runs off 36 balls. By the end of the innings, they could only manage to score 137 runs for the loss of nine wickets and hence lost the match by 42 runs. Waqar Afridi and Justin Shaju scalped three wickets each for Malta.
