Papua New Guinea are set to tour Malaysia to take part in a two-match T20I series starting on Saturday, March 16. Both sets of fixtures will be played out at YSD-UKM Cricket Oval in Bangi. This series will be a historic one as this is the first-ever bilateral series between the two associate nations.
The visitors come into the game on the back of a win in the tri-series final against Nepal. They would be hoping to replicate that form in this upcoming T20I series as well. Tony Ura was the star of the show for the team against Nepal in the final, and the onus would be on him to lead the batting in this series as well.
The hosts last competed in an official match during the Malaysian Open T20 Championship 2024. They did have a successful campaign as they finished second in the tournament. The team was close to winning the championship as well but lost to Bahrain in a close final between the two teams.

Player Picks
Tony Ura PNG | WK
The openerās attacking intent has been lethal for the side and has yielded them results more often than not.
Muhamad Syahadat MAL | BAT
The middle-order batter is known to be the pillar of this batting line-up. His knocks are filled with top strokes and knows how to handle pressure situations with ease.
Kiplin Doriga PNG | WK
The wicketkeeper-batter was one of the best players during Malaysiaās last tournament and would be hoping to replicate his form with both bat and gloves in this series.
Alei Nao PNG | BOWL
The bowling all-rounder was stunning in the last tri-series for his side. He was scalping wickets for fun and scored runs for his side in the death overs to take them to a good total as well.
Pavandeep Singh MAL | BOWL
The left-arm orthodox spinner would be very useful on this surface and with his tight line and lengths, he can surely get wickets with ease.
Chad Soper PNG | BOWL
The medium-pace bowler is known for cutters and his tight and accurate lines can help the side on this slow surface.
Avoid Having These Players In Your Fantasy Sports Team
Fitri Sham
MAL | ALL
The spinner was not effective at all for Malaysia in their last outing and has been leaking runs at crucial moments for the side.
Assad Vala
PNG | ALL
The captain is coming into this contest with a poor outing in the tournament and might not be a good choice for the team at all in this current form.
